Birth to three services, coaching families through early intervention
The Infant/Toddler Early Intervention program provides support to families with children from birth to age three, with developmental delays and disabilities. Early Intervention enhances each family’s capacity to meet the needs of their child in the settings where children live, learn and play.
Accessing Services
While the CCIU can be selected by families as a provider of Birth to Three Services, all referrals for children age 3 and under must first go through the County of Chester Early Intervention program.
Once the referral is received, a county service coordinator will schedule a home visit with the family to gain more information and explain the Early Intervention screening process. The service coordinator and the family will then discuss how to best assess the child and a developmental evaluation with a multi-disciplinary team will be scheduled. The service coordinator will guide the family through the screening process and, if the child is eligible, the family may then select the CCIU as the provider for their child's service(s).
